Wildfire prompts Upper Klamath River closure
The Lakeview District of the Bureau of Land Management gave notice late Saturday that it was temporarily closing some areas along the Upper Klamath River to vehicle operation, river and foot traffic, due to the nearby Oregon Gulch Fire.
The special restrictions and prohibitions are established on lands known as the Upper Klamath River Area of Critical of Environmental Concern (ACEC).
“This closure is necessary to ensure firefighter and public safety while operations are occurring on the Oregon Gulch Fire,” the notice said.
BLM will post closure signs at main entry points to this area. Maps of the closure area and more information were available from the BLM Klamath Falls Resource Area office.
