Bend restaurant customers aid schools

KTVZ

Each year since 2011, Arby’s has teamed up with the No Kid Hungry Share our Strength campaign which is a nationally recognized leader in the fight against childhood hunger. Through the Arby’s Foundation, Arby’s is committed to supporting programs and working to make a leading impact through this campaign.

In 2011 Arby’s Foundation pledged to donate $1 million dollars to the campaign. Due to the overwhelming success of the national fundraiser and both employee and customer support the Arby’s Foundation was pleased to double the original pledge with a donation of over $2.2 million dollars. In 2012 the Arby’s Foundation raised $2.7 million dollars for the campaign. In 2014 our goal is to raise $3.26 million dollars.

Funds raised are used to provide grant monies for programs and education to organizations who share our mission.

Our local Arby’s in Bend nominated Bend-La Pine schools and we are pleased to announce that our nomination was approved and a $4,000 grant was awarded to the school district which they used to purchase two new pieces of equipment which will play a crucial role in the district being able to provide fresh fruits and vegetables as well as cold milk for students in our district.

We applaud Bend-La Pine Schools for working hard to provide our students locally with the nutrition they need to be healthy and engaged in learning.

This year our store campaign runs from August 18 th thru September 28 th . Customers are asked to donate $1 and by showing their support they will sign their name to a pinup and place it on the wall in the restaurant. As a thank you, the customer receives coupons for $2 off any full price sandwich or combo meal (does not include value menu).
