KTVZ

The Bend Area Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Mark Quinlan, is leaving his post to accept a position at the University of Oregon School of Law in Eugene. Quinlan will administer a program that oversees Community Dispute Resolution Centers throughout the state.

During Quinlan’s 6 year term as executive director, Habitat has provided homeownership to 26 families, implemented a ground breaking effort to keep people in their homes through a home repair program, oversaw the acquisition of property for future homes and initiated the relocation of Bend Area Habitat’s ReStore.

“I have been honored and humbled to serve the community. During my tenure I have met hundreds of supporters who have worked tirelessly to advance our mission, for this I am truly thankful.” – Mark Quinlan

“Through Mark’s extraordinary leadership, Bend Area Habitat is in a strong position to continue its work to help low income families and individuals achieve homeownership where parents can raise their children in a safe and secure environment.” said Habitat’s Board president, Darrel Buttice. “He has done this by managing programs that have empowered hundreds of volunteers to help people in need one home at a time. In turn, his accomplishments have benefited our community as a whole.”

“While Mark’s departure will provide Habitat with a short term challenge, we are fortunate to have a strong and talented staff that will keep our programs moving forward.”

Currently, the Bend Area Habitat Board is drafting an interim leadership plan while an extensive recruitment plan is developed and implemented.
