Becca’s Closet opens for fall dances, functions
Becca’s Closet, the volunteer-run organization operated through Bend’s Community Center, is the only organization of its kind in Central Oregon to provide formal attire to young adults and men and women who otherwise could not afford to attend special events, dances and homecomings and proms.
Becca’s Closet will reopen again this fall Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 24 from 4 – 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Additional dates will be considered when school dances are confirmed for the upcoming year.
“This organization truly serves as a social equalizer for so many young people and adults throughout our community who otherwise would not have an opportunity to participate in events,” said Linda Heatley, the executive director for Bend’s Community Center.
Becca’s Closet is always seeking volunteers as well as donations of formal wear and accessories including jewelry, shoes, evening shawls and purses. Donations can be made at: 1036 NE 5 th Street, Bend, anytime from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
