Tumalo State Park campground to close for work

KTVZ

The Tumalo State Park campground is closing next Monday for the next several months for a construction project, including new restrooms, Oregon State Parks said.

The closure is expected to continue through June of next year, while the day use area remains open, officials said.

The project costs approximately $800,000 and will be funded by Oregon Lottery dollars dedicated to state parks. Project coordinators are also in the process of applying for a grant.

If the project is finished earlier, facilities available for those dates in May and June will become reservable starting April 15. You can call the reservation office starting April 15 at 1-800-452-5687 for an updated schedule.

The construction project includes replacing original restrooms in the B & C loops with new restroom-shower buildings.
