Bend sets open houses on cyclist, walker safety

The public is invited to two upcoming open house gatherings to learn about road safety issues in Bend and explore optionsto improve safety for people walking and biking across busy, multi-lane roadways.

Data has shown patterns of crashes on certain multi-lane roads, especially Third Street, Greenwood Avenue and Colorado Avenue.

To learn more about the conditions, challenges and opportunities on these corridors and to discover how to participate in the City of Bend’s safety improvement project, come to one of these open houses:

Colorado and Arizona Avenue crossings (Bond Street to Parkway ramps), 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Commute Options, 50 SW Bond Street, Suite 4
Third Street crossings (Greenwood Avenue to Murphy Road) and Greenwood Avenue Crossings (NW Awbrey Road to NE 12 th Street); 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Transit Center, 334 NE Hawthorne Avenue
