BendFilm, partner offer parents child care

KTVZ

In an innovative move sure to please film-loving parents, BendFilm is partnering with Bend Montessori this year to offer high quality, professional, communal child care during two evenings of the festival.

Parents can purchase a babysitting ticket online when they purchase film tickets. The child care ticket price will make it hard for parents to resist, as the rate, $25 for up to 2 children, is a fraction of what it normally would cost parents for a night of babysitting.

The rate equates to $4.25 per hour and for each additional child over 2 children, parents may simply purchase another ticket. Child care is available to children between the ages of 3 and 12.

The childcare days and times are this Thursday, October 9 from 4:45-9 pm and Friday, October 10 from 6:30-10:15 pm.

There are spots for only 20 children each night, so parents are encouraged to sign up early. Sign-up must be completed online. Parents must present both a copy of the childcare ticket and their film ticket when dropping off their children. Thursday’s child care will take place at the Environmental Center, 16 NW Kansas Avenue, while Friday’s child care will be at the Boys and Girls Clubs, 500 NW Wall Street.

At each venue, children can watch a children’s film, play with their friends or work on arts and crafts projects. Pizza, popcorn and water will be provided, and parents may bring along additional food and drink items for their children to enjoy. The 4:45 pm drop-off time was designed to allow parents time to head directly to the Tower Theater for the opening night film, “The Winding Stream.”
