Deschutes County seeks community grant applicants

KTVZ

Each year, Deschutes County offers grants to eligible non-profit organizations in support of programs or projects that benefit Deschutes County residents and that are consistent with priorities established by the Board of County Commissioners.

The Community Grant Program is funded with video lottery proceeds.

For fiscal year 2014-15, the Board of Commissioners will award community grants within each of the following categories:

Health, Mental Health, and Addiction Services: Two grants of $11,000 each will be awarded. Arts and Culture: Two grants of $2,400 each will be awarded. Other Essential Services: Two grants of $11,000 each will be awarded. Applications submitted within this category must address services to youth; underserved, indigent, and/or vulnerable populations; animal welfare; or the environment.

Applicants to the Community Grant Program must be designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization; be located with Deschutes County; and request grant funds for the purpose of serving Deschutes County residents only.

Application forms may be obtained from the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners web page or can be requested by sending an email to Judith Ure at judithu@deschutes.org. Completed applications must be submitted electronically to judithu@deschutes.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered.
