Downtown Bend occupancy slips a bit

KTVZ

The Downtown Bend Business Association announces a decline in the occupancy for 3 rd quarter of 2014. After setting a record last quarter with 98% occupancy, the most recent quarter saw a dip in occupancy to 96%.

The occupancy rate is based on the number of leased street level retail/restaurant spaces in the downtown district.

“After a very successful summer, we anticipated some changes in businesses as owners choose to move on to new projects. The overall stability of Downtown Bend remains strong.” Says DBBA Executive Director Chuck Arnold.

New businesses starting up this quarter are located on:

Minnesota Avenue

115 Minnesota – New to Downtown Bend this quarter is COSAS NW adjacent to Toomie’s Thai Cuisine. Cosas is a gallery showcasing Mexican Folk Art, Latin American Textiles and Accessories, and David Marsh Furniture. We buy from over 150 artists directly in Mexico and Central America and we are the sole representative of David Marsh in the state of Oregon.

The DBBA is a private nonprofit organization representing approximately 350 businesses and 85 property owners working to keep Downtown Bend vibrant. The organization is responsible for downtown beautification, cleaning and maintenance, marketing, events, and keeping the business environment healthy.
