Mid Oregon Credit Union honored for ‘Pay it Forward’
Mid Oregon Credit Union was honored at the recent Northwest Credit Union Association annual convention for their impactful outreach efforts with “Pay it Forward.”
Mid Oregon Credit Union received the First Place Dora Maxwell Award, a regional award that will move to the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Awards competition, where it will be judged alongside credit unions from around the country.
NWCUA President and CEO, Troy Stang commented at the recent convention, “The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award recognizes model efforts by a credit union to significantly improve the lives of people in the community regardless of whether they are a member.
“Mid Oregon Credit Union always puts its members first, so it is no surprise that they are a perennial Dora Maxwell award winning credit union.This year we recognized them for their partnership with CoEnergy in the Pay it Forward program.”
Over the past two years. KTVZ News Channel 21/KFXO FOX Central Oregon, CoEnergy Propane, and Mid Oregon Credit Union have collaborated to bring Pay it Forward to Central Oregon.
Pay it Forward identifies people and projects in the community that deserve recognition for going good things.
While Central Oregon is full of individuals who go above and beyond, Mid Oregon Credit Union and CoEnergy Propane gave away a total of $500 every month to one of these inspirational people/organizations.
KTVZ News Channel 21/KFXO FOX Central Oregon and the NPG Group of Stations took the concept on-air and online telling the stories of the selfless acts of kindness performed by Central Oregonians every day.
“Pay it Forward raised awareness of the ‘People Helping People’ credit union philosophy, which is something Mid Oregon believes in and is doing all the time as part of our nature.” said Kyle Frick, vice president of marketing at Mid Oregon. “We greatly appreciate the support and partnership of KTVZ/KFXO and CoEnergy in bringing this program to our community.”
