Bachelor and to find candidates interested in other volunteer positions such as Fundraising, Event Coordination, Administrative, Photo Research and Organization, and Visitor Services Intern with Discover Your Forest.

The Volunteer Recruitment event will be held on Wednesday, November 12, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Deschutes National Forest, Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District, 63095 Deschutes Market Road, in Bend.

Volunteer Interpretive Rangers will represent the U.S. Forest Service at Mt. Bachelor leading snowshoe tours. Duties include helping visitors don snowshoes, safely guiding up to 50 people on a 1 mile snowshoe walk, and occasional snow removal. Volunteers are provided uniforms and training. Snowshoe Rangers are asked to commit to at least 4 hikes a month (or 2 days per month) from mid-December 2014 – March 30, 2015.

The Visitor Services Intern will help execute planning objectives, market and expand social media efforts for the 2015 Newberry National Volcanic Monument 25 th Anniversary Celebration. The internship is a part-time stipend position lasting 10-12 weeks.

Individuals interested in other volunteer positions with the Deschutes National Forest are also welcomed to attend the recruitment event.
