Natural gas line work to cause closures, delays

Expect a fair amount of congestion Tuesday near the south end of Drake Park, as Cascade Natural Gas crews pull a long 6-inch gas line along Galveston Avenue under the Galveston Bridge.

The intersection of Tumalo Avenue and State streets, as well as the side intersection of Tumalo and Riverside, will be closed most of the day, and flaggers will be directing traffic, beginning about 7am.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route, as there will be no westbound traffic on Tumalo Avenue. Cascade Natural Gas expects the intersections to be clear by 5pm tomorrow night.
