Bend man accused of recording teen in shower
(Editors’ note: Mr. Pies recently shared with NewsChannel 21 a judge’s court order that indicate his conviction on these charges were set aside and his record was expunged, which we have verified by checking Oregon’s online court files, where they no longer exist.)
A 40-year-old Bend man is charged with sending explicit photos on Snapchat to a 17-year-old girl who was a family friend, and with secretly recording videos of her in the shower, police said Thursday. Officers said they have recordings of several other victims they have yet to identify.
Police began an investigation into Jeffrey Scott Pies early last week, and he was arrested last Friday on charges of second-degree online sexual corruption of a child and invasion of personal privacy, said Lt. Nick Parker.
A jail officer said he was released the next day after posting 10 percent of his $15,000 bail. He’s due in court on Nov. 18th.
Along with the Snapchat photos, Parker said police learned Pies had recorded videos of the same girl without her knowledge while she was showering.
“A number of items were seized” in a raid on Pies’ home, Parker said, not divulging specifics in a news release.
“Evidence obtained revealed video recordings of several additional victims, yet they haven’t been identified at this point,” Parker said.
