Redmond postpones ice skating rink opening
The city of Redmond said Wednesday it is delaying Friday’s planned opening of the ice rink due to impacts from last week’s winter storm.
The Public Works staff is working to open the rink on Wednesday, November 26 th to be open for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The approximately 4,000-square-foot rink will be open to the public seven days a week until the end of March, weather permitting. There will be free skate hours from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday –Thursday and 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday – Sunday. You must have your own skates and the rink will not be staffed during these times.
The rink will be open with skate rentals available from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Sunday. The entrance fee will be $1, with rental skates available for another $3. A family rate of $12 is available for persons residing in the same household, up to six people. A reduced rate will be available (75% reduction) for qualifying families through the Redmond Area Park and Recreation District’s scholarship program.
The rink will maintain normal operating hours during the holiday weekends.
The City of Redmond and the Redmond Area Parks and Recreation District partner to operate and maintain the portable ice skating rink and provide an economical and fun activity for families to enjoy during the winter season.
