St. Charles Foundation gala has record success
The St. Charles Foundation’s James Bond–themed Saints Gala raised more than $165,000 to benefit childhood prevention and wellness programs offered through St. Charles Health System.
The sold-out Nov. 8 event at the Riverhouse Convention Center Ballroom featured a gourmet meal, specialty Bond-inspired cocktails from Oregon Spirit Distillers, parlor games, live and silent auctions, a big-ticket raffle and in a surprise performance, a dazzling routine from Central Oregon Aerial Arts.
Auction packages ranged from trips to Big Sky Montana and the Oregon coast to Seattle Seahawks tickets, a stocked custom-made bar and a Kentucky Derby party at the Pine Tavern.
More than $60,000 from the paddle raise will directly support Programs for the Evaluation of Development and Learning Clinic (PEDAL), which helps ensure that babies born significantly premature in our region have access to early, multidisciplinary evaluations.
“Babies who are born prematurely are at risk for a variety of issues that will affect how they learn and how they connect with other people,” said St. Charles psychologist Dr. Sondra Marshall. “We do not have families no-show for this clinic. They come in taxis, they come in snow storms. They come because they not only want to see how their baby is doing, but also to see their team.”
The Saints Gala is St. Charles Foundation’s signature annual fundraising event for community members who wish to invest in quality health care for Central Oregonians. Each year the proceeds go to a priority campaign, program or department in support of St. Charles Health System’s vision of “Creating America’s healthiest community, together.”
“St. Charles could not do what it does without the generous support of a caring community,” said Lisa Dobey, St. Charles Foundation executive director. “Every year, the Saints Gala is a testament to that generosity.”
