KTVZ

More than 200 lumber mill workers were laid off from Woodgrain Millworks in Prineville, leaving them without health insurance and looking for a job.

The Crook County Health Doepartment, COCC in Prineville, Mosaic Medical and Farmers Insurance are teaming up to help those who need insurance.

The health department says they’ve received many calls from concerned citizens. A special enrollment event with certified application counselors will be offered to the public Wednesday evening at the COCC campus in Prineville, 510 SE Lynn Blvd. in Prineville from 5-8 p.m.

There will be people on site who can answer questions and sign people up through the federal health exchange.

Also, the Oregon Employment Department is holding a job fair Thursday in Prineville for the 200-plus workers affected by layoffs at Woodgrain Millwork.

It is being held at the Crook County Fairgrounds in Prineville at Carey Foster Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
