PD: No foul play in body found at NE Bend home

A 27-year-old northeast Bend woman’s body was found in her home Wednesday by family members after she didn’t show up for work, police said. Neighbors saw a large police presence for several hours, until officers confirmed it did not involve foul play.
Police responded to the home in the 400 block of Northeast Olney Avenue shortly after noon regarding a deceased person, said Capt. Ken Stenkamp. He said family members found the woman’s body in the home when they went to check on her.
Officers and detectives began investigating the cause and manner of death.
“After consultation with the medical examiner, it was determined the death did not involve foul play and that the death was not a criminal matter,” Stenkamp said in a news release Wednesday evening.
Neighbors reported seeing police assembled and some in protective gear going in and out of the home, which was surrounded by police tape.
