Bend apartments upgrade includes first-ever clinic
Housing Works will celebrate the completion of modernization work at the Ariel Glen and Healy Heights apartments on Tuesday, along with the grand opening of the region’s first workforce housing-based medical clinic, located at Ariel Glen.
Guest speakers at the event will include Patrick Shea, of the U,S Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Megan Haase, Chief Ex,ecutive Officer of Mosaic Medical. The program will also feature messages from Housing Works Board Chair, Laura Cooper and Matthew Harrington with PNC Real Estate.
“We are excited to complete the substantial upgrades to these properties,” said Housing Works’ Executive Director Tom Kemper. “The renovations provide high-quality homes for low-income families in the Bend area.
“The added bonus was that we were able to team up with Mosaic Medical to provide on-site medical services to our residents in a converted laundry room that was no longer needed, as all the housing units were equipped with washers and dryers in the remodel. Mosaic will also provide other supportive health related services for residents.”
The Ariel Glen and Healy Heights apartments, in Bend, consist of a combined 140 units of affordable workforce housing serving households under 60 percent of the area median income ($37,440 annually for a family of four).
Critical financial investments were made into these communities by PNC Real Estate, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Oregon Housing and Community Services and the City of Bend.
“Mosaic Medical is incredibly excited for the implementation of the region’s first housing community based medical clinic,” said Megan Haase, Mosaic Medical Chief Executive Officer. “Providing ease of access in service provision is crucial to the health of those we serve. We believe that offering such a localized service will result in healthy, thriving households.”
The grand opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday from 11am-12noon at the Ariel Glen Apartments in Bend. The Ariel Glen Apartments are located at 1700 SE Tempest Dr., Bend, OR 97701.
