DeBone plans La Pine community discussions

KTVZ

Deschutes County Commissioner Tony DeBone, in partnership with the La Pine Chamber of Commerce, plans to hold five seminars-one day each month, for the next five months.

One aspect of what makes a vibrant community will be discussed at each meeting. Discussions will take place on the fourth Thursday of the month in La Pine.

The goal of holding the sessions is to bring residents of “Newberry Country” (all of South Deschutes County including Sunriver, and North Klamath County) together to discuss what is important to them regarding topics such as public safety, the economy, education, health and human services, natural resources, and environment and infrastructure (roads, sewer, water). Everyone is welcome to attend.

“My goal is to share the common facts around local topics from the south county community. My hope is that residents will invite each other to join in the discussion-which will empower us to have a common body of knowledge,” Commissioner DeBone said.
