KTVZ

The Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory will be hosting two public meeting to gather input from area residents on a Strategic Plan and Interpretive Plan. Both planning processes are helping to craft a vision for future improvements.

A public meeting for input from area residents on the draft Interpretive Plan will be held at SHARC on Monday, March 9, from 6 to 8 pm.

The Interpretive Plan will cover development of interpretive themes, both interpretive programs and environmental education programs, proposed interpretive exhibits, and design concepts for site improvements.

If you cannot attend on that day, please send any comments to SNCO Executive Director James Little at james@sunrivernaturecenter.org by March 10, 2015.

A public meeting at SHARC for input on the draft Strategic Plan will be held on Monday, March 16, from 6 to 8 pm. The Strategic Plan will cover overall goals of the organization and strategies for achieving success.

The plans will be available as a PDF to review before each meeting on our websites: http://www.sunrivernaturecenter.org or http://www.oregonobservatory.org (Go to the About the Non-Profit heading, and select Our Future tab.)

The Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory serves Central Oregon with fun nature programs for families, educational programs for schools, fabulous views of the night sky, wildlife research and rehabilitation, and the area’s only botanical garden.

We’ve outgrown our facilities and need to make improvements to better serve our visitors (over 16,000 per year). We need your help in reviewing the new Concepts to improve our beautiful campus and your advice on best ways to proceed.
