Bend PD again seek owners of recovered stolen items

KTVZ

Bend police released three new photos Friday of some stolen items recovered in an August raid, in hopes of finding the owners and returning the items to them.

Investigators have linked many of the recovered items to burglaries and thefts earlier in 2014, said Lt. Nick Parker.

Unfortunately, they have been unable to connect some of the remaining property to a specific burglary or theft case or victim, Parker said.

Photos were released last December of a half-dozen of “the more unique items, hoping victims will recognize them,” Parker wrote in a news release. Three more were released Friday, for a total of nine, mostly rings and other jewelry.

Anyone who recognizes the pictured items is asked to contact Detective Wes Murphy at 541-322-2960.

Parker said “numerous” items were recovered during the execution of a search warrant. But he said police are not being specific about the circumstances in which the property was recovered to try to “ensure we get the true victims coming forward.” He noted it was initially not a case in which a news release was issued or media were notified at the time.

Parker said Bend police urge “all crime victims to make reports to the police,” so recovered items can be returned to their rightful owners
