Great Nordeen XC Ski Race course changed

The Desert Orthopedics Great Nordeen Nordic Race, will take place this Saturday. Because of low snowpack, the course will start and finish at the Oval. It will utilize Dutchman’s flat, Century Drive and the Mt. Bachelor trails.

The skiing at the mountain has been amazing and although the race can’t drop down lower like Nordeen traditionallyhas, the new course will be really good.

The Fat Tire Bike Race has been canceled due to the lack of snowpack.

MBSEF plans on having a very exciting and fun Fat Tire Bike Race next year in conjunction with the Great Nordeen, weather dependent.

The race will start in front of the Nordic Center at Mt. Bachelor at 9:00 a.m. A detailed route map will be posted at www.mbsef.org on March 10 th . The course will be at least 20 plus kilometers.

Packet Pickup will be held at WebSkis from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13 th . Their address is 550 SW Industrial Way, Ste 20, Bend, OR 97702.

Race Day Packet Pickup and Race Day Registration will take place at the MBSEF tent outside the Nordic Center between 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m.

Registration is open at www.mbsef.org until Thursday, March 12 th , 2015.

Following the race, WebSkis will host an awards party with free Deschutes Brewery beer, soda and appetizers for all participants.
