KTVZ

Is there a Bend-La Pine Schools teacher, school psychologist, counselor or certified employee who has impacted your child’s life in a special way? If so, you are encouraged to nominate that individual for Bend-La Pine Schools’ 2015 Excellence in Education Awards.

Nominations are due to your neighborhood school, or the Bend-La Pine Schools Superintendents Office at 520 NW Wall Street in Bend, by 3 p.m. on Monday, April 6. Nomination forms can be found at www.bend.k12.or.us/2015nomination

Excellence in Education winners will be recognized at an afternoon event sponsored by Mid-Oregon Credit Union on May 21. Award winners will be considered for Bend-La Pine Schools’ Teacher of the Year award, which is announced each August at the district’s annual all-staff Welcome Back event. Bend-La Pine Schools’ 2015 Teacher of the Year will vie for Oregon’s Teacher of the Year award.

“We have developed a wonderful tradition of recognizing our teachers for their accomplishments and passion,” said Mid-Oregon Credit Unions vice president Kyle Frick. “This program is designed to identify teachers who are moving education forward with measureable student outcomes that exceed standards and promote lifelong learning engagement.”
