Merkley honors Heart of Oregon Corps
Senator Jeff Merkley is holding three Town Halls across Central Oregon this week, gathering input from local residents as well as honoring a local non-profit doing recognizable work in the community, Heart of Oregon Corps.
Both Heart of Oregon staff and the young people in Heart of Oregon job skills training and education programs will be in attendance at all three county events. Local young people who participate in Heart of Oregon programs will be encouraged to ask questions directly to Sen. Merkley about the issues that matter to them.
At the Deschutes County Town Hall on Wednesday, Heart of Oregon Corps will be honored by Sen. Merkley with a flag that has flown over the Capitol. The town hall will take place at the Deschutes County Town Hall (51633 Coach Road, La Pine High School – Library ), on Wednesday, April 8, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.
“There are huge issues facing Oregonians and the best way for me to effectively advocate for Oregon’s families and businesses is by getting out on the road and holding town halls across Oregon,” said Merkley. “My annual town halls are also a great opportunity to honor local organizations that are doing good work in their communities. Heart of Oregon Corps is working to help young people in Central Oregon get the skills and education they need for a successful future. I’m pleased to present them with a flag that has flown over the U.S. Capitol.”
