Healthy Beginnings gets screenings assist
The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded $2,000 to Healthy Beginnings to help support the program’s efforts to expand access to health and early intervention services to the region’s young children – especially the most vulnerable populations living in Central Oregon.
Funding will support the program’s community screening, referral and follow-up services as well as parent education and information regarding health and development services available in their community focusing on services to vulnerable populations including those children in homeless shelters.
Pacific Power Foundation is delighted to support Healthy Beginnings and their unique approach in serving the young children of Central Oregon. Their preventative service fits well with the Association’s mission, through charitable investments, to support the growth and vitality of the communities served by Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power explains Angela Price, Regional Community Manager.
This project will assist the program in expanding service while improving parent education is essential especially for families with limited access to services. We are always grateful to partner with foundations and appreciate such generous community support. This support comes at a key time in our service plan, says Holly Remer, Healthy Beginning’s Executive Director.
Healthy Beginnings, a unique program available only in Central Oregon, works to assure parents that their children are developing appropriately or, if needed, to make referrals for in-depth evaluation and treatment. Parenting information and community resources are provided free as well. Every family attending a Healthy Beginnings screening receives extensive information on the heath and development of their child. For more information about this screening program call 541-383-6357 or visit the program’s website at www.myhb.org for a full listing of screening dates and cities as well as detailed information about our program, volunteer, and donation opportunities.
