Two arrests in Redmond motel holdup at knifepoint
Two Redmond residents have been arrested in a robbery at knifepoint from a southwest Redmond motel and most of the victim’s property was recovered, police said Thursday.
Officers investigated the reported robbery at the Village Squire Motel at 629 SW Fifth Street that occurred around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, said Lt. Mike Kidwell. The victim was not injured, he added.
The victim and witnesses identified the suspects as Kenyon Odoms, 22, and Jordan Breshears, 23, the lieutenant said.
The pair were contacted by Redmond officers shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday at Southwest Canal and Salmon avenues and taken into custody without incident.
An investigation found that the pair allegedly robbed the victim at knifepoint in his motel room and took personal property at the time. Most of the victim’s items were recovered in the suspects’ possession, Kidwell said.
Both remained lodged Thursday at the Deschutes County Jail. Breshears was held on first-degree robbery and coercion charges and held without bail on a parole violation warrant. Odom faces first-degree robbery and theft charges, as well as coercion, interfering with making a police report, first-degree menacing, tampering with a witness and felon in possession of a weapon. His bail totaled $145,000.
