Deschutes deputy’s patrol car rear-ends car in Sisters

A Deschutes County sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car rear-ended another car at slow speed in downtown Sisters Thursday morning, and deputies said Oregon State Police were called in to investigate the collision.

The crash occurred around 8:50 a.m. as the unidentified deputy was patrolling the downtown Sisters area, said Sgt. William Bailey.

The collision caused minor damage to the other car’s rear bumper but none to the front of the patrol car, Bailey said.

A passenger in the other car complained of minor head pain after the collision but denied needing medical attention, the sergeant said.

Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire medics were dispatched as a precautionary measure to evaluate the passenger, who declined any further treatment.

OSP responded to the scene at the sheriff’s office request to investigate the collision, Bailey said.
