Bend Parks and Rec seeks summer teen volunteers
Bend Park & Recreation District has many opportunities available for teenage volunteers to support summer youth recreation programs.
Volunteers help from mid-June through Labor Day with youth programs such as Days of Play, Fit Kids, science, art, theater, cooking, fitness, nature and adventure activities. Programs are located at various facilities and parks throughout Bend.
Volunteers assist recreation staff with program activities and interact with participants, while learning job related skills and gaining experience working with younger children.
Teen volunteers must enjoy working with youth, be willing to get involved and take initiative and be able to create a positive, encouraging environment for participants of all abilities. Age requirement, necessary training and time commitment varies by program. Minimum age for volunteers is 12 years old.
Teens can apply to volunteer opportunities through the Bend Park & Recreation District online registration site at https://register.bendparksandrec.org/.
Volunteer application and criminal history background check (for volunteers 18 years and older) are required and form is available to complete online on the BPRD website.
