Bend man jailed, accused of prescription drug trafficking
A 41-year-old Bend man has been arrested on drug and other charges, accused of trafficking in large quantities of oxycodone and other prescription medication throughout Central Oregon, drug agents said Thursday.
Detectives with the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team contacted and arrested Scot Michael Kreidenweis in a public parking lot on Northeast Courtney Drive around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, said Lt. Ken Mannix.
Mannix said Kreidenweis had been the subject of a long-term investigation into illegal trafficking of large amounts of prescription drugs around the region. He said detectives learned he was obtaining large amounts of oxycodone from various sources, then selling them for profit to “numerous individuals.”
After arresting Kreidenweis, detectives conducted a raid on his duplex in the 1400 block of Northeast Tucson Way, where Mannix said they found more evidence of drug possession and distribution. They included oxycodone and morphine, as well as scales, packaging material, a switchblade knife and cash.
Kreidenweis was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on charges of drug possession and delivery, as well as being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon (the switchblade). He remained held without bail Thursday on a probation violation charge.
