Lane County man killed in Hwy. 20 crash near Sisters

KTVZ

A Lane County man was killed Friday morning when his car left U.S. Highway 20 west of Sisters, struck a tree and overturned, Oregon State Police reported.

Troopers and Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District emergency personnel responded just before 6 a.m. to the reported crash near milepost 98, just west of Sisters, said OSP Lt. Bill Fugate.

Initial information indicates Troy A. Crabb, 35, of Blue River, was at the wheel of a 1996 Honda heading east when it left the road and struck a tree, coming to rest on its side, Fugate said.

The driver, who was alone in the car, was deceased when first responders arrived.

“It appears fatigue is a contributing factor to the crash,” Fugate said in a news release, adding that more information will be released in the ongoing investigation when available.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies ODOT.
