Missing man with amnesia found safe, back with family
A Portland man who was reported missing in southern Oregon and has a condition that causes amnesia has been found and is safe with his family, authorities said Sunday afternoon.
More information will be released when available, they added.
The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office has been seeking the public’s help in finding Michael Gazeley-Romney, 25, who has a condition that causes him to have amnesia – he does not know who he is.
Gazeley-Romney wandered away his father’s work site in the North Valley area of Josephine County around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies said.
The family searched until about 7 p.m., then requested assistance from the sheriff’s department. Search and Rescue was activated and had been actively looking for the subject.
The area he went missing from is near the Interstate 5 Manzanita Rest Area southbound. He had no cell phone or money.
