OSP seeks tips in Crook County antelope poaching case

The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division in Prineville asked for the public’s assistance Thursday in locating the person (s) responsible for the unlawful killing and waste of an antelope in Crook County.

On August 7 , OSP Fish & Wildlife troopers responded to a report of a dead antelope doe east of Prineville in the Ochoco Unit of Crook County.

Troopers found the antelope east of Big Summit Prairie on the 30 Road, one mile north of the 42 Road junction in Crook County.

The person(s) involved left the antelope doe to waste in plain view 40 feet off the road. The antelope was shot out of season and no meat taken. Fish & Wildlife Troopers believe the animal was poached in early morning of August 7 .

The Oregon Hunters Association Prineville Chapter has offered a $500 reward for information resulting in an arrest/conviction of person(s) for the illegal killing, taking, and/or waste of this deer.
