KTVZ

There was a fatal stabbing in La Pine late Tuesday afternoon, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies confirmed.

Deputies, Oregon State Police and La Pine Fire District paramedics responded at 4:23 p.m. to an address in the 52000 block of Dustan Road for a reported stabbing, said sheriff’s Sgt. William Bailey and Lt. Tim Leak.

After arriving, deputies and paramedics began life-saving efforts on a male subject with a stab wound, Leak said, declining to be more specific.

The male subsequently died from his injuries, the lieutenant said..

Bailey had few details to release, other than that “there is no outstanding threat to the public.” Leak also said the investigation was ongoing but that “there is no danger to the community.”

The victim has been identified and family notified, Bailey said, but the name or other details have not been released.

Sheriff’s detectives were still on the scene several hours later, well after dark, investigating and processing evidence.

Leak said the names of those involved and other information would be released later.

We’ll have more details as they become available on KTVZ.COM and NewsChannel 21.
