Post kidnapper suspect faces dozens more charges
The Post man accused of kidnapping and assaulting his ex-girlfriend learned Monday afternoon that he faces dozens of other charges.
Josef Taylor, 34, was arrested last week after investigators with the Crook County Sheriff’s Office said he locked the woman in his cabin for nearly three weeks and burned her with a blow torch.
In addition to first-degree kidnapping, Taylor also was charged with assault, menacing constituting domestic violence, harassment, tampering with a witness, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful manufacturing of marijuana and burglary, among other charges.
Taylor kept his head down for much of his appearance in Crook County Court by video from the county jail.
Due to the nature of the alleged crimes, a judge raised his bail to $250,000.
Investigators also say they found evidence that Taylor stole several items from area neighbors, including a motorcycle.
Taylor is expected to enter a plea on Oct. 28.
