Prineville man killed in forklift accident identified

KTVZ

A 70-year-old Prineville man was killed Thursday when a forklift he was repairing fell on and pinned him at his home, Crook County sheriff’s deputies said.

The sheriff’s office, Prineville police and Crook County Fire and Rescue responded shortly before 5 p.m. to 2490 Northwest Lamonta Road on the reported accident, said Sgt. James Savage.

The victim was identified Friday as Darrell Leon Goodman, a long-time Prineville resident who lived at that address.

First responders found Goodman had died under a forklift he was working on, Savage said. They determined the forklift was not working at the time, and the man was working to repair the forks when they fell and pinned him.

Goodman had been working alone and was pinned for several hours before being located, the sergeant said.
