DAR holding two student essay contests
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors one annual essay contest for teens and another for younger children.
This year’s teen essay topic is “Columbus and Lindbergh: A Journey Across the Atlantic.” Students in 9th through 12th grades in Central Oregon, in public or private schools, or home schooled, may enter.
The local first place essay will be forwarded for state-level judging. The national winner will read her/his essay at the DAR Continental Congress in Washington, D.C. in June.
