California to Central Oregon
AS MUCH AS EVER, Bend seems to be at the height of its popularity. Drawing attention across the board, for its increasingly high level of entrepreneurship and it’s attractive lifestyle. Sotheby’s broker Lily Dupont Leedom says “Central Oregon fosters such a culture of creativity & broad horizons”. This is just one of the many endearing aspects that has progressively drawn California natives to Central Oregon over the years. Everyone has a different story, a different reason as to why they chose leaving California for Central Oregon. The common ground lies in the conclusions they made after they discovered what it had to offer: An easygoing lifestyle filled with adventure and vibrancy.
Laura Toney, an Integrated Media Consultant at KTVZ.com for example admits to moving to Bend on accident. She never expected to make a life here, but was entranced by the “variety of exploration” that Bend and neighboring areas have to offer. She says, “We are enjoying a slower pace of life without the California hassle of commute. Every day we wake up to an abundance of sunshine and fresh air.” The crisp mountain air and 300 days of sunshine greatly contribute to the “revitalizing” lifestyle here in Central Oregon. Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty Broker, Laura Blossey moved to Bend from Laguna Beach, California. She says “Bend is a great place to re-boot, de-stress and really focus on the important things in life.” For her, that means her family. She has thoroughly enjoyed selling real estate in Central Oregon while watching her kids grow up in such an inspiring environment. One of the most common misconceptions is that our Central Oregonian towns are too small and “rural” to offer enough variety. In reality that statement is anything but true. Our towns are quaint, and each one of them offers something unique that simply cannot be found anywhere else. There is a certain inexplicable sense of serenity when you drive over Mount Washington in the morning and get to see the Cascade Mountain range at sunrise, when you ride your cruiser bike along the river trails in Sunriver, or when you ponder the historic downtown of Sisters. Those are just a few of the many wonders that Central Oregon has to offer.
