Four arrested in drug raid on NE Bend house

Neighborhood complaints of drug activity and a string of traffic stops led to a police raid on a northeast Bend house Wednesday morning and the arrest of four people, one who jumped out a window and over a fence before his arrest in a neighbor’s yard, police said.

Bend police and the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team served a search warrant shortly after 7 a.m. at 547 Northeast Kearney Avenue, a small house behind another home, said Sgt. Mike Landolt.

There have been complaints of drug activity at the house, Landolt said, and several cars “have been stopped after short visits to the residence consistent with drug activity.” Heroin, methamphetamine and guns were found during the investigations, he added.

Officers set up a perimeter around the house as the raid began. When police announced their presence at the front door and announced it was a “search warrant,” a man later identified as Paul Dilorenzo, 20, of Bend, jumped out a window on the east side of the house, about six to eight feet off the ground, the sergeant said.

Dilorenzo then jumped a fence in a bid to get away, but officers gave him verbal commands and he was arrested in the neighbor’s yard.

Also arrested in the home were Esaui Mutchler, 34, of Madras; Daniel LaCroix, 32, of La Pine; and Skyla Kistler, 21, of Bend. LaCroix was found to have a warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation, Landolt said.

The search of the home turned up user amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, LSD, mushrooms and suboxone. Officers also found packaging material and scales, as well as evidence of drug use and possession throughout the house.

The four suspects were lodged in the Deschutes County Jail. Mutchler was held without bail on an out-of-county warrant forparole violation and also is charged with cocaine possession. LaCroix, also held without bail, faces meth and heroin possession charges.

Kistler and Dilorenzo each were held on $105,000 bail, charged with heroin possession and manufacturing, meth possession, other drug possession charges and frequenting a house where drugs are used, kept or sold.
