Crash blocks lane of Hwy. 20 near Santiam Pass
A possible-injury crash Friday morning blocked a lane on U.S. Highway 20 about a mile west of the Santiam Pass summit.
The crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. near milepost 80 amid spots of ice on the mountain pass, authorities said.
At least two vehicles were involved and there was a call for extrication tools to remove one person from a vehicle, and at least one ended up in the ditch beside the road.
Deschutes County dispatchers reported traffic was getting by slowly in the other lanes. They advised drivers to use caution and expect delays.
We’ll have more details as we receive them.
In Redmond, another two-vehicle crash was causing traffic backups Friday morning at U.S. Highway 97 and Veterans Way. There were no reports of life-threatening injuries in that crash as well.
