C.O. Law Enforcement Reserve Academy graduation
The Central Oregon Reserve Law Enforcement Officer Academy will hold commencement exercises for the class of 2015 in the auditorium of Redmond High School, 675 SW Rimrock.Way, Redmond, on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11:00 AM.
The eight graduates represent six Central Oregon Law Enforcement agencies including the Sheriff=s Offices of Crook and Deschutes counties and the Police Departments of Bend, Madras, Redmond and Sunriver.
In successfully completing the 458 hours of intensive Academy training, each graduate met established performance standards of Oregon=s Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. The graduates will return to their respective agencies as sworn Reserve Peace Officers and begin their assigned duties under the supervision of a field training officer.
The Academy is a cooperative effort of Central Oregon=s Law Enforcement Agencies. This year’s Academy was sponsored by the Bend Police Department and hosted by the Deschutes County Sheriff=s Office. Classes were conducted in the Sheriff’s MAC Training Center as well as the Sheriff’s range facility and at the Bend Police Department. The Academy instructional staff consists of regular and reserve law enforcement officers from the participating agencies, the Deschutes County District Attorney=s Offices, the Oregon State Police, as well as a number of individuals from various civic and governmental organizations.
