BrightSide to get 10-15 ‘death row’ dogs in air rescue
BrightSide Animal Center is participating with Wings of Rescue, a group of volunteer pilots, to support an effort to complete a rescue of 1,000 dogs from high-kill shelters in California in just 30 hours.
The dogs are being placed with shelters that can provide them the opportunity to find a loving home.
BrightSide expects to receive the dogs from California on Friday afternoon, Nov. 20 (exact times won’t be known until late Thursday or Friday morning).
They will be taken to BrightSide for the standard intake – photographed, vaccinated, and checked-in. Behavioral evaluations will begin Saturday and medical evaluations will begin Tuesday.
The rescued dogs will be made available for adoption as soon as possible after their medical treatment, if needed, and spay/neuter.
Visit BrightSide Animal Center, 1355 NE Hemlock Ave. in Redmond. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. BrightSide Animal Center is a 501c3 nonprofit, high-save animal shelter dedicated to finding homes for pets and to reducing pet homelessness with low-cost spay and neuter services.
