Prineville PD release third photo, scour tips in gas station holdup
Police released a third photo Monday of a gunman who held up the Chevron gas station-convenience store in downtown Prineville early Sunday morning as they scoured tips they hope will lead to the suspect.
The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Officers had released two security-camera images Sunday in hopes the public can help them identify and arrest the suspect.
The white male adult entered the store at 398 West Third Street around 3 a.m., displayed a handgun and demanded the cash from the register, said police Sgt. Tom Kurtz. No one was injured, he added.
The man fled on foot, but Kurtz said he might have had a car nearby.
The suspect was described as 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, with a large build and a dark, medium-length beard. He was wearing a heavy winter coat, with a fur lining around the hood.
Prineville police asked anyone with information about the crime to contact them at 541-447-4168.
