Night sewer work at Arizona Ave., Bond St. in Bend

KTVZ

Sewer line construction along Arizona Avenue at the intersection of Bond Street will continue into the evening for the next three nights. Construction work will end by 10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15 through Thursday, December 17.

Hours are being extended so work at the intersection can be completed and the intersection reopened by Friday. During construction, expect traffic delays in the area.

Bend’s sewer collection system is near capacity. In some areas, existing sewer pipes routinely approach overflow levels. In parts of the city it is difficult for Bend to add any major new employer or residential development.

The Colorado Lift Station (a lift station is a large pump station) and pipeline project upgrades and replaces the undersized and deficient Shevlin station in McKay Park. The improved station will relieve critical sewer capacity issues on Bend’s westside. It is sized to provide capacity for businesses and residents inside the current UGB.
