Bend woman arrested in broken-glass assault on boyfriend

KTVZ

A 37-year-old Bend woman was arrested on assault charges early Thursday, accused of injuring her boyfriend with a broken glass during an argument, police said.

Officers responded to St. Charles Bend shortly before 4 a.m. on a report of an assault victim seeking medical treatment, said Sgt. Dan Ritchie.

Investigating officers learned that Genaro Soto, 42, also of Bend, and Christie Ann Bennett had been in an earlier argument at 1133 NW Wall Street “that escalated,” Ritchie said in a news release.

Officers determined Bennett caused non-life-threatening injuries to Soto with a broken glass, the sergeant said.

Soto was treated at the Bend hospital’s ER and released.

Bennett was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on four counts of second-degree assault. Her initial bail was set at $200,000, jail records showed.

Ritchie said he could not provide other details of the incident due to the ongoing investigation.
