United Way of Deschutes names new board members

United Way of Deschutes County announces the election of five new members to the Board of Directors. The Board is leading an organizational transformation to achieve greater impact in our community by bringing together people and organizations to address issues and challenges that affect us all.

“This is a critical time for our organization and the Board provides the visionary leadership needed to create long-lasting, visible and measurable change in our community,” stated Dan Stevens, President of United Way of Deschutes County. “Each member brings unique talents and skills necessary to affect change in the conditions that foster and perpetuate our community’s most pressing problems.”

The new members of the Board are Roxana Ermisch, Bridges to Communication; Joe Gardepy, U.S. Bank; John Hummel, Deschutes County District Attorney; Tony Levison, Windermere Central Oregon; and Marney Smith, Old Mill District Management.

Officers of the Board were elected at January’s annual meeting. The following will serve a one-year term: President: Dan Stevens, PacificSource Health Plans; 1 st Vice President: Eli Ashley, Retired; 2 nd Vice President: Jacob Fain, Morgan Stanley; and Treasurer: Angie Hubler, Callan Accounting Services. Stevens appointed the following board members to chair standing committees: Board & Volunteer Development: Dave Markham, Fiscal & Operations: Angie Hubler, Resource Development: Jacob Fain, and Community Impact: Mike Stanley and Tamara Weber co-chairs.

Stevens went on to say, “In order to make a deeper and more lasting effect in people lives, United Way of Deschutes County is directing our focus to the three building blocks of opportunity – education, health and financial stability. Together with our partner agencies and our many business and individual stakeholders we can create a healthier and more prosperous community with opportunities for everyone.”
