Principal forums set for Amity, High Lakes elementary schools

Bend-La Pine Schools is hiring principals at two elementary schools: Amity Creek Magnet at Thompson School and High Lakes Elementary School. Parents, students and members of the community are invited to meet the principal candidates during forums set for next week.

Attendees will be able to interact with the finalists and provide feedback to the hiring committee.

Amity Creek will host its principal candidate forum from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29 at the school. Current principal Carol Hammett is retiring at the end of this year.

High Lakes will host its principal candidate forum from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at the school. Current principal Susan Heberlein is retiring at the end of this year.

Finalists for the two positions will be announced later this week.
