DCSO reports Bend ‘shred event’ results

KTVZ

On Saturday, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Secure Shred and NeighborImpact, hosted the first Bend shredding event of 2016 at the Sheriff’s Office in Bend.

In a three-hour period, 358 vehicles came through the shred event, dropping off nearly six tons of documents for shredding, about 1,200 pounds of food and money for needy families and 96 bags of prescription drugs for disposal.

Thank you to Secure Shred, NeighborImpact, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office volunteers and our citizens for making this a successful event.

The next shred event will be held on Saturday, May 7 , at the La Pine substation of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
