Prineville man arrested on rape, sex abuse charges
A Prineville juvenile’s report of long-term abuse led to a Redmond traffic stop Tuesday and the arrest of a 36-year-old Prineville man on two-dozen rape and abuse charges, police said.
In early February, the juvenile, under 16 years of age, reported being the victim of several sex-related crimes “over a long period of time from a known suspect,” police Sgt. Mark Monroe said in a news release.
An investigation of the allegations was assigned to a Prineville police criminal detective, Monroe said.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Prineville police, assisted by Crook County sheriff’s deputies and Redmond police, arrested Warren Arthur Doescher Jr. during a traffic stop near Veterans Way in Redmond on a felony warrant, Monroe said.
Doescher was taken to the Crook County Jail and booked on eight counts each of first-degree rape, first-degree sex abuse and second-degree unlawful sexual penetration. He remained held Wednesday on $500,000 bail.
While the investigation is continuing, Monroe said “there is not believed to be any additional victims.”
