Bend police release photos of bank holdup getaway car
Bend police on Friday released a series of three security-camera photos of the suspected getaway car used by a masked gunman who held up the Columbia Bank on Northeast Third Street on Feb. 29 and got away.
In a rare move, police were able to release detailed photos of the specific car, believed to be a 1992 to 1995 white Honda Civic Coupe – not just a similar make or model, as often happens – and identified several distinctive elements, from stickers or decals to body damage.
“The pictures were taken from neighboring businesses security cameras,” said Lt. Clint Burleigh.
Burleigh said police had determined the car in the photo was used by the suspect in the holdup, and that it has:
-Damaged lug nut covers on the front driver and passenger side wheels
-An unknown sticker or decal in the rear driver side and passenger side windows
-Body/paint damage to the rear driver side and passenger side bumper
–Body damage to the passenger-side door
-A decal or bumper sticker on the driver side trunk lid, and
-A moon roof.
Anyone who has seen or knows where the car is located was asked to contact Bend police through Deschutes County dispatch at 541-693-6911.
“Please do not approach the vehicle if located,” the lieutenant added.

Earlier, police had only said the man last was seen walking west from the bank. He was described only as an unknown male adult who wore a black ski mask, gray “hoodie” sweatshirt and dark pants. An extensive search of the area failed to find him.
