Consumer Cellular’s Redmond call center hiring
Consumer Cellular in Redmond is holding three job fairs this week as the call center grows to meet demand.
Content Center Manager Tiffany Smith said Tuesday they’re looking to hire candidates to take phone calls from customers. They’re looking to hire 30 people every couple of weeks until they’re fully staffed.
Smith said they are looking for customer account advisors, an entry-level position but one that offers full medical, dental and vision benefits.
Starting pay is $546 a week, but that can change based on which shifts the new hire wants to work.
Smith said Tuesday’s first job fair was successful, with several people offered positions. She said many of those interested seem to already be working a minimum -wage job but are looking for a better place to work.
She said they are a growing company, which leaves room for a lot of opportunity.
“We’re definitely one of the largest employers in Central Oregon,” Smith said. “We’re adding great jobs to this area is a really good thing.”
Here’s the announcement issued earlier this week.
Consumer Cellular, the mobile carrier that touts it has the highest overall customer satisfaction, according to Nielsen Mobile Insights, said Monday it will host a job fair this week at its Redmond call center, with plans to add 120 workers throughout this year.
The Consumer Cellular call center, located in Redmond, currently houses 551 employees, the company said.
With 1,400 employees across its facilities in Portland, Redmond and Phoenix Ariz., Consumer Cellular said it offers competitive benefits packages, including flex schedules and overtime paid at 1.75 percent after 32 hours.
A company spokeswoman said they pay call center workers a starting salary of $564 a week, but with a flexible work schedule, the hourly rate varies.
Other benefits include 100 percent paid medical, dental and vision, paid life insurance, PTO and paid holidays, an employee wireless rate plan, paid long-term disability policy and monthly employee appreciation events.
